Paying Membership Fees

How to pay your membership fees to ensure you remain fee-compliant.

1. Quick Overview

  • New members (initial fee): Pay in full within 7 days of the invoice date — no payment plan on the first invoice.

  • Renewals (membership level): Pay via Payment Portal (instant allocation) or EFT (posts when funds clear). If needed, use a 6-month plan to remain fee-compliant.

  • Early-bird (renewals only): Applies only if you settle your entire balance in one transaction to R0 by the cut-off; not available on debit orders/recurring plans.

2. Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Open your invoice: Login to your Membership Profile → Accounts → Invoices → open the latest invoice.

    1. Choose how to pay:

      • Payment Portal (recommended): Card/instant methods; allocation is immediate once successful.

      • EFT (bank transfer): Use your invoice number as the payment reference; allocated once funds reflect.

    1. If you’re a new member: Pay in full within 7 days to activate your membership (no instalment option on the first invoice).

    1. If you’re renewing at membership level:

      • Early-bird windows: July cycle 10% by 31 May, 7.5% by 30 June; January cycle 10% by 30 Nov, 7.5% by 31 Dec.

      • Rule: Early-bird applies only if your entire balance (arrears + renewal) is paid in one transaction to R0.

      • Need time? Set a 6-month plan (membership level).

    1. Channel 2 (Plus Option), if shown: Follow the pop-up to Stay Enrolled or Opt Out (if your group allows) before paying.

    1. Download proof from the invoice screen. If anything looks wrong (e.g., Namibia fees), log a ticket.

3. What You’ll Need (Requirements)

  • Payment options: Payment Portal (instant allocation) or EFT (posts when funds reflect).

  • Plans (membership renewals): 6 months available.

  • Deadlines:

New members: Pay in full within 7 days of the invoice date.

Cycle due dates (general): 8 July / 8 January; early-bird dates above (renewals).

4. Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Trying to use a plan on the first (join) invoice. Initial membership fee is pay-in-full within 7 days.

  • Missing early-bird with EFT paid too close to the deadline. Use the Payment Portal for instant allocation.

  • Paying a discounted renewal while arrears exist. Pay arrears + renewal together to R0.

  • Assuming early-bird on a plan. Not available on debit orders/recurring. .
