    • Yes. CIBA is recognised by SAQA as a professional body, and by SARS and CIPC as a controlling body. This means your designation is legally recognised and respected by regulators and employers.

  • From Bookkeeper to Chief Financial Officer, CIBA offers Chartered designations for every finance role. You can also apply for specialist licences in areas like Tax, Independent Review, and Business Rescue.

  • Membership and designation fees vary depending on your role. Most designations are payable in three or six instalments, and fees include Professional Indemnity cover, CPD access, and member rewards.

    What is the process to apply?

    1. Create your online profile.

    2. Upload your qualifications and CV.

    3. Pay your application fee.

    4. Application is assessed by CIBA.

    5. Receive your professional designation certificate

    • Not always. CIBA recognises both academic qualifications and practical work experience. Many members start with bookkeeping or administration experience and grow into higher designations.

  • Members must complete annual CPD, adhere to CIBA’s Code of Ethics, and keep membership fees up to date.
