CIBA exists for accountants like you, highly capable, often overlooked, but essential to the health of our economy.

Our Story

We started in 1987 with one goal: help accountants make businesses better. Over time, we saw the real problem, the different players in the economy weren’t talking to each other.
So, we built a professional body that connects the dots: between accountants, business owners, regulators, and whole industry sectors. Our designations, training, and advocacy all focus on one thing: keeping businesses alive, so they can grow, hire, and add to GDP.

“I Felt Invisible, Until I Became Chartered.”

“For years I worked hard, meeting deadlines, fixing mistakes, keeping businesses alive. But I was always overlooked. Clients assumed the real work belonged to a chartered accountant. That path wasn’t for me, it was built for auditors, not the work I do in business and practice. Joining CIBA changed everything. I proved my skills, earned a ‘Chartered’ designation for my role, and gained an identity that opened doors. I realised I wasn’t just keeping the books, I was helping businesses survive, grow, and create jobs.”
