Claiming Complimentary CPD

CIBA provides selected complimentary CPD courses to support members in meeting annual compliance requirements without extra cost. By claiming these rewards, you save money, stay compliant with the CIBA CPD Policy, and strengthen your standing as an ethical professional. Missing your CPD obligations risks suspension and loss of benefits.  

2. Why It Matters

Claiming your complimentary CPD is more than just a financial saving — it’s a direct investment in your professional credibility, compliance, and ethical standing as a CIBA member. 

CIBA includes selected free CPD courses as part of your membership benefits to ensure that all members — regardless of practice size or financial capacity — can meet their annual compliance requirements under the CIBA CPD Policy. These courses are specifically curated to keep you up to date on regulatory changes, ethical standards, and industry best practices relevant to your designation. 

  • By claiming and completing your complimentary CPD: 

    • You remain compliant with the annual CPD requirements set by CIBA and recognised under SAQA. 

    • You save money, as these sessions are offered at no additional cost to members in good standing. 

    • You protect your professional status, since incomplete CPD can result in suspension, loss of benefits, or blocked access to renewals, rewards, and digital certificates. 

    • You strengthen your ethical reputation, demonstrating ongoing commitment to integrity, competence, and continuous learning, qualities expected from all Chartered and Certified CIBA professionals.

3. Step-by-step instructions

  1. Log in to your membership profile

  2. From your dashboard, go to My Rewards and look for CPD-related offers. 

  3. Select the Complimentary CPD option. 

  4. Follow the link to cpd.myciba.org, where the complimentary course(s) will be pre-activated or accessible via a voucher code. 

  5. Enroll in the course by adding it to your CPD profile (your basket will reflect a zero cost if it’s complimentary). 

  6. Complete the learning activity and download your certificate. 

  7. Log your CPD declaration in your CIBA profile to ensure compliance records are updated. 

4. What you’ll need

  • Active CIBA login (membership profile). 

  • Good standing status (fees paid or debit order active; declarations submitted, and annual declarations submitted). 

  • Access to cpd.myciba.org with your member login. 

  • Annual CPD compliance declaration to confirm completion 

5. Common mistakes to avoid

  • Skipping the CPD declaration: Completing a course isn’t enough—Log your CPD declaration in your profile each year. 

  • Assuming all CPD is free: Only designated complimentary courses are covered,  

  • Failing to complete Ethics CPD: Annual Ethics CPD is mandatory, Prioritise Ethics CPD when selecting complimentary options.
